Silly Calvin

We went to Klamath Falls over the weekend and it wasn't until we were literally walking into the church that I noticed Calvin had put his pants on backwards. What a silly boy!

Sorry, don't know why I cut his head off, probably would have made the pictures look a little funnier with it attached. Oh well, you get the idea. His excuse was that he didn't notice the tag was in the front! Oh, so you missed the tag, fair enough, but how about the zipper and button or the strange pockets or the fact that you had to walk funny because they just didn't fit quite right...

All she wants for her half birthday...

is her two front teeth.
Emme pulled out her other front tooth yesterday. She was pretty excited... mostly I think to get some more cash from the tooth fairy.

Unfotunately, the tooth fairy stood her up. :( She was quite dissapointed. She thought maybe her tooth wasn't clean enough for the fairy. I think ultimately, though, we decided that maybe the tooth fairy was just a little sick and couldn't make it out last night. I would imagine that tonight she will come and probably come bearing late fees. :oP

Here are a couple random pictures just for fun:

Look at my cool socks...

Getting ready for my big Rock Your Socks Virtual 10K tomorrow... thought I'd share a picture of me and most (yes, there are several pair that didn't make the photo shoot) of my cool socks. I'm also rocking some pretty sweet penguin jammies.

Just because...

I'm putting off folding the rest of my laundry, here are a few pictures that I've taken with my phone:

As Promised...

Here are some pictures from Calvin's fishing trip last Saturday. He didn't catch anything (something about a bunch of 3 & 4 year olds all bait fishing in the exact same place) but had a great time spending the morning with his daddy. I do believe Dan had a great time too, although he was reminded of how much he dislikes bait fishing.

Here is the little pirate fisherman with his loot... a tin foil hook, an eye patch and some golden pirate coins (hidden in his hand). Gotta love that post nap scowl that says nothing more than, "I do not want to pose for your silly picture, Mommy!"
And, with thanks for your patience, here are a couple bonus pictures of Calvin's crazy sisters. Anytime someone is getting a picture taken, everyone else has to get in on the action.

Sick of Sick Kids...

So, I had to keep Emme home from school today because she has a fever. I should've known she was getting sick (or I guess sicker, she's been sick forever) when she took a nap yesterday afternoon. That is pretty much unheard of! Just when I thought everyone was finally getting better we now have some new strain of funkiness going around. Nothing quite as great as having little kids in the house to share all their wonderful germs around!

On a happier note, pictures of Calvin's fishing to follow soon... I promise.

Fishing!

Right now Calvin and Dan are at Leaburg Lake for a special Pirate Fishing Day put on by Calvin's preschool. Hopefully I'll have a lot more pictures and information for you later, but for now, here's a picture Dan sent me from the lake. Looks like Calvin's having a great time!

Tooth Fairy Strikes Again

Emme's out another tooth. Last night she managed to pull out one of her very loose front teeth. It's only a matter of time before the other one follows. She was reluctant to pose for any pictures, but I convinced her that no one is going to laugh as everyone at some point in their life has lots their front teeth.

And for your viewing pleasure, mostly because anytime the camera is out so are Leona & Calvin, here is a bonus picture of my 3 craziest crazies:

Jog-a-Thon

Today was Emme's Jog-a-thon for school. She completed 11 laps in an hour. Jonny, Leona, Calvin & I had the opportunity to go for a bit too. For the complete report check out my other blog HERE.

Thanks to all those who donated to the fundraiser. If you didn't get a chance and would still like to, let me know before the 20th.

Garden Girl

Emme is in the Garden Club at school. She absolutely loves it! So far this year they have planted tomatoes and peas as well as some flowers and done some weeding. At her last meeting they made some little "garden balls" that have seeds mixed in with some compost and clay. Apparently you can "throw it anywhere and it will dry out and then the seeds will plant themselves and you will get beautiful flowers". I don't know if it will work but we're sure looking forward to finding out! Here a a few pictures of our little gardener and her garden ball:

If you look closely at her face, you'll notice that most of her gardening time involves getting as dirty as possible!

2 months and counting

Jonny has been 2 months old for a week now, but I thought I'd wait until after his check up, which was yesterday, to write about it. He's doing very well and growing nicely. He currently weighs 12.2 pounds (50th percentile) and is 23 1/2 inches (50th percentile) and his head is 40cm (45th percentile). To put him in perspective with the rest of my kids at 2 months, he's half a pound lighter than Emme was, 1 pound more than Leona was and 3 pounds lighter than Calvin (Calvin was such a big kid!). Jonny is such a happy kid. He rarely cries and even when he does he is still quick for a smile. Calvin & Leona love all the time they get to spend with him and when she's in the mood, Emme loves him too. Here are a few pictures we took on his 2 month birthday:

Leona & Calvin are always quick to hop into pictures...

I love this picture, Jonny's expression is great, "what're you doing in my picture?!?"
My silly boys... sure love 'em to pieces.

Calvin Tries Tabasco

Tonight Calvin tried some Tabasco pepper sauce for the first time. I put a drop on his finger then on his tongue. It started to burn him a little, but he was tough. He even said he liked it. He decided the best way to ease the burning on his little tongue was to scrap it on his two front teeth. It was an unlikely home remedy, but it worked in his mind.

Emme tried it too, but just used water to put out the flame. Her remedy wasn't quite as intuitive as Calvin and the teeth scraping method I suppose.

Emme's Soccer

Emme had a soccer match last night. She played quite well. She played in three matches and had two goals and one really nice save. However, I think she had the most fun before and between matches posing for silly pictures and taking pictures of her friends.

Leona has an ear infection, so Dan stayed home with her and Calvin which allowed me to go watch the match with just Jonny. He was a great observer and because he stayed happy and even went to sleep, he made is to I could actually watch Emme play.

And, since I had the camera out this morning, Noni just had to pose for a pic. She's feeling a lot better today, not complaining about her ear so much. The doctor said it should probably clear up on its own but gave us a perscription just in case. I don't think we'll need to use it though.

Little Runner

Emme recently got a pair of running shoes so that she can "train" for her jog-a-thon and also the kids dash at the Lake of the Woods Run. We've decided that we will start running together every Wednesday. Yesterday was our inaugural run. She did an amazing job and had a lot of fun too. We ran around our block and the school a couple of times... all together just over half a mile. We were lucky and it ended up being nice and sunny when we headed out, which was amazing because it had just been hailing and started pouring rain shortly after we finished up. Leona had a good time too. It was also Jonny's first trip for a run in the jogging stroller, which he didn't seem to be too excited about (he slept right through it).

Quick Intro

Thanks for checking us out. I thought I'd start up this new blog to focus more on our family and our kids instead of mostly just my running. Hopefully I'll post lots of pictures and keep everyone more updated on the kids and our day to day activities. There is a page dedicated to each person in addition to whatever I post. You can click on the names below the picture to check them out.
